Challenge
Design a book cover for William Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" without using photography.
Solution
The design references Italian architecture and utilizes symbolic elements to convey important themes. The red tapestry symbolizes the central theme of passion, surrounded by sobering blue sculptural motifs that evoke the stained glass and marble found in European mausoleums of the period. The intentional contrast between red and blue references the deep-seated rivalry between the Montague and Capulet families.
